Yoginis Closet CARBON38 Ribbed Regular Rise 7/8 Legging Review
Picture
PROS / Carbon38 Ribbed Regular Rise 7/8 Legging is four-way stretch, breathable and sweat wicking. The ribbed fabric is medium high compression, which is suitable for various exercises from yoga to high impact workouts.

CONS / The regular rise provides enough coverage; however, the encased elastic band is extremely uncomfortable. It pinches and digs into my waist. In addition to that, the legging does not mask sweat.

BOTTOM LINE / Carbon38 Ribbed Regular Rise 7/8 Legging would have been a perfect all around legging if it wasn't for the encased elastic band. The ribbed fabric offers all performance needs, including four ways stretch, breathable, and moisture wicking properties. Although it shows sweat spots, the legging is squat proof.

Yoginis Closet Athleta Salutation Stash Pocket II Gravel 7/8 Tight Review
Picture
PROS / Made with Athleta's popular Powervita fabric, Salutation Stash Pocket II Gravel 7/8 Tight is four-way stretch, breathable and sweat wicking. It is medium high compression, which is suitable for both yoga and high impact workouts. The flat waistband provides great coverage and support.

CONS / This particular Powervita fabric is thicker than Salutation Tights and Elation Tights. I find it slightly too warm for sweaty practice and workouts.

BOTTOM LINE / Athleta Salutation Stash Pocket II Gravel 7/8 Tight is a versatile legging that can be worn for high intensity workouts and yoga. The improved flat waistband keeps my belly tucked in. Two stash pockets are practical and big enough to fit my iPhone 8 plus. The only downfall is the fabric being too thick.

Lovewave The Jackson Pant in Pink Leopard Review

Yoginis Closet Lovewave The Jackson Pant / Leggings in Pink Leopard Review
Picture
PROS / The medium high compression fabric makes Lovewave The Jackson Pant suitable for various exercises, including yoga and high impact workouts. The high waist keeps the tummy tucked in and provides tons of support and coverage.

CONS / The legging runs small, especially the waist. The V-seam of the waistband makes my tummy look bloated. While the legging masks sweat stains, it doesn't breathe well.

BOTTOM LINE / Lovewave The Jackson Pant covers basic performance needs (four-way stretch, fast dry and shape retention) for wide range of workouts; however, it fall short of the breathability. The high waist provides great support and hides the muffin top, but it doesn't flatter my body curvatures well.

Yoginis Closet Varley Estella Legging in Saharan Cheetah Review (Tittibhasana)
Picture
PROS / Designed for high impact workouts, Varley Estrella Legging provides tons of muscles support. The fabric is four-way stretch allowing full mobility. In addition, it is moisture-wicking and quick dry.

CONS / The waistband slightly digs in to the skin. The fabric provides too much compression for yoga (not really a bad thing since it is meant to be high compression).

BOTTOM LINE / Varley Estrella Legging has me covered in high impact workouts with great muscles support and body hugging sensation. Not only is the high compression fabric four-way stretch, it is also sweat wicking. It keeps me stay cool during sweaty exercises. Moreover, it gives the butt a nice lift.

My Practice during The Coronavirus Pandemic

4/4/2020

I hope everyone is doing well and stays healthy. During this weird and stressful time, it is difficult for me to type up any content to share. I am sure the Coronavirus Pandemic makes a lot of us more stressful than ever. Whether we like it or not, it is an undeniable fact and we all have to face it. Though I feel calm, I am restless. A lot is going on in my head, but I can't come up with a clear thought. This is the third week of Shelter-In-Place and I am trying my best to hang in there. I am an indoorsy person, so it is not a problem for me to stay home. In fact, part of me enjoys such lifestyle very much. Not everyone can handle the lockdown, but I invite you to look at the bright side. Looking at things from different angles gives us different perspectives. Just like yoga asana practice, the same "shape" can be presented in many ways, which challenge our physical body and mental state in different levels.

Let's look at the shape of a straight line for example. Four pictures below show how the same shape is created in different asanas. I can lie down on my belly or on my back. I can also stand on my feet or go upside down to the headstand. Either way, I am creating the same shape, one straight line, either horizontally or vertically. However, these four poses present different levels of difficulties. Of course, standing straight and lying on the belly are easier than inversion and low boat pose (lying on the back with legs and shoulders lifted off the ground). Depending on the challenging level of the pose, my mind and body react differently.
