Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight in Powervita & A-C Actualize Longline Bra Review11/9/2019 Overall Rating - 9.8 / 10 PROS / Made with the cottony soft Powervita fabric, Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight features great breathability, sweat wicking and fast dry properties. It provides a gentle yet compression body hug. It can be worn for various activities from restorative yoga to high intensity workouts. CONS / Although I wear an XS Petite, the legging is a tad too long for me (about half an inch too long). BOTTOM LINE / Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight is an awesome all around workout legging. The Powervita fabric is buttery soft and stretchy. It is moisture wicking and fast dry. It allows me move freely in yoga yet provides sufficient muscles support in HIIT. The ultra high waistband keeps everything tucked in. In addition, the legging gives a flattering look. Practice Journal -It's getting harder to get up in the morning due to the cold weather. I know it is not that cold in the Bay Area compared to many other states, but I don't enjoy practicing yoga when the room is below 70 degree Fahrenheit. I do turn on the heater to 72 degree, but it doesn't feel the same as practicing in summer. My body feels stiff. Backbends and hip opening postures are so much more challenging to do than before. Aparigraha, the last Yama in Patanjali's Eight Limbs of yoga, teaches non-attachment. It is so hard to not attach to my "good" practices in backbending, especially in Kapotasana, when I can't do it "well." It is so hard to not think of those good feelings from previous practices. Frankly, good or bad is relative and subjective. Each practice is an unique experience and it shouldn't be measured by good or bad. I am changing every second, so does the body. I shouldn't expect my body to be the same forever. With the consistent practice, I continue to grow and to progress. Of course, certain days can be rougher than others. Learning how to work with the stiff, sore or injured body is as important as making progress. Details of Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight in Powervita -Top: Athleta A-C Actualize Longline Bra, Arbor Olive Leopard Print, S (true to size). Bottom: Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight, Arbor Olive, XS Petite (true to size). It's finally time to share my first purchase of leopard print legging of the season. I own this legging for over a month and I love everything of it. I have been wearing it for morning Ashtanga practices as well ass HIIT and Tabata workouts. Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight is made with my favorite fabric from Athleta, called Powervita (debuted in 2017). This buttery soft fabric covers everything I need for exercising. Here comes this week's review of Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight (color: Arbor Olive).
The legging is made in Vietnam. Performance - Though I've reviewed quite a few Athleta leggings that are made with their best selling Powervita fabric in the past, I am going to introduce another pair today. As mentioned last week, Leopard print leggings are more popular than ever this season. When I saw Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight, I knew immediately that I had to get it. The buttery soft Powervita fabric is four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. It it as soft as Lululemon Nulu fabric if not softer. Different to Nulu, it is higher compression (though it's advertised as low compression) and a better choice for high impact workouts. I really like how it hugs my body. It makes me feel supported. Thanks to the leopard print, it hides sweat stains very well. Quality - It is constructed with flatlocking seams throughout and there is a lined gusset for reinforcement. The back drop-in pocket holds essentials, but it's not big enough for a cell phone. The legging is 100% opaque and it passes the squat test. Overall, I am very happy with its quality. Fit - It is true to size. I wear an XS Petite; however, it is slightly too long on me. Half of an inch shorter would have been perfect. I really appreciate Athleta offers Petite sizes. It frustrates me that most full length leggings are too long, leaving extra fabrics scrunching at the ankle. Of course, I can have them hemmed, but they never look and fit the same. In addition to Petite sizes, Athleta also makes Tall and Plus sizes. Athleta is the brand that truly has women in all sizes covered. It is interesting to see how activewear evolves over time. When I first started doing yoga in 2010, low rise leggings were the mainstream style. Around 2015, the high rise became popular. That was when I saw the advertisement of tummy tucking leggings. Fast forward to today, apparently, high rise leggings aren't good enough. To provide the most and the best support as well as coverage, Ultra High Waisted Leggings are introduced. Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight is my first ultra high rise tight from Athleta. I believe the ultra high rise tight is newly introduced this season. The 3-layer waistband sits above the navel, below the lower ribs. It provides tons of support and coverage for the midsection. The legging is very flattering. It enhances body curvatures well. Comfort - Even though there is an encased elastic band, it is pinch free. Other than great support, I don't feel any discomfort. The fabric is incredibly soft. It is higher compression than Nulu and provides more muscles support. The legging is comfortable, but the compression is higher than what I would wear when lounging at home. I highly recommend Athleta Leopard Elation Ultra High Rise Tight to everyone. Either you are a yoga practitioner or a gym rat, the legging covers everything needed for your exercises. Powervita fabric, one of my favorites, is buttery soft. Not only is it four-way stretch, it also has sufficient compression for muscles support. The ultra high waist provides tons of coverage and keeps my tummy tucked in. Although the legging is slightly too long, it is flattering. It shapes, lifts and sculpts all the right places of the body. About Athleta A-C Actualize Longline Bra -I purchased quite a few sports bras lately as some of older ones don't fit me anymore. I have been doing more strength training and weight lifting in addition to yoga these days and my chest is getting bigger and bulkier. I used to wear 32B bras and XS sports bras, but I am between 32-34B today. Most of my sports bras are XS and they are a little bit too tight; however, I still wear XS from certain brands, such as Alo Yoga and prAna. For Athleta, S is definitely a more comfortable fit than XS.
