Overall Rating - 8.6 / 10PROS / The Dusted Microstretch fabric of Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging is four-way stretch and moisture wicking. The special foil treatment creates a sophisticated sparkle, which is why I bought the legging in the first place. The high waist provides tons of coverage for the midsection and the midi length is perfect for my height (5'2"). CONS / I don't particularly like its ultra high waist and the legging shows minor sweat stains. The metallic sheen is scratchy and not comfortable when doing bound asanas. While I like the fit of the waistband, the front rise seems to be too long and the leg isn't quite snug enough. BOTTOM LINE / Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging is so popular and almost sold out everywhere. The Dusted Microstretch fabric is four-way stretch with the medium compression for muscles support. Unfortunately, it is scratchy when rubbing against the skin in bound asanas and the breathability isn't the best. Nonetheless, it's a stylish and high performance legging. I want to share what I've been practicing lately for Supta Kurmasana. Using the wall to help get into the pose.
Details of Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging -I am slowly increasing my collection of Beyond Yoga's leggings. I used to dislike their fit, but they have improved a lot over time. In addition, I am very impressed by their recent designs. If they weren't so expensive, I would have owned a lot more of their leggings by now. Top: Zella Body Rhythm Sports Bra, Red Tannin Heather, S (run small). Bottom: Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging, Black-White Rose Gold Dusted, S (run small). Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging in Black-White Rose Gold Dusted was released early this year. I remember clearly that it was sold out within few days. Although it was re-stocked couple times, the supply just couldn't catch up with the high demand. Lucky enough, I was able to find it on sale at Nordstrom last month, but they had sold out my regular size, XS. I ended up getting a small, which isn't a snug/tight fit. I was going back and forth if I should return the legging. At the end, I decided to keep it. Let's take a look.
The legging is made in USA. Performance - I was sold by the appearance of Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging but doubting its performance initially. Surprisingly, the fabric is way better than I thought. It is medium compression and very stretchy. It provides sufficient muscles support yet enough freedom for the wide range of movement. I notice sweat stains during the yoga practice. They aren't very obvious but I do see couple wet spots. Compared to other Beyond Yoga's Leggings I own, this pair is not as breathable as those. I felt sultry and swampy during the practice. In fact, I fold the waistband down half way through my practice to air out. I expect breathability to be a problem for hot yoga as well as a hot and humid summer day. Quality - The Dusted Microstretch fabric is astonishing. The metallic sheen is stylish yet high performance. It is 100% opaque. I've never seen any fabric like this. It looks and feels like actual glitter except it doesn't fall off the fabric. The legging is constructed with flatlocking seams and there is a gusset, which are expected for an over $100 legging. th Fit - I might be between sizes. The waist is a perfect fit as I wouldn't want it to be any tighter to pinch the skin; however, the remaining areas are on the loose side. The legging doesn't hug the body well resulting in wrinkles behind the thighs and the knees. Since I've not tried my regular size XS (sold out), I don't know for sure if it would fit better. Although the small isn't a snug fit, it provides enough compression for working out. For that reason, I decided to keep the legging. The other color Pink Lei Light Pink Dusted still has XS. If I decide to give it a try, I will share. I like high rise leggings in general, but Beyond Yoga's High Waisted leggings are too high for me. When the waistband covers above the navel, it's no longer comfortable, which is why I don't want it to be any tighter. Since I am wearing a larger size, the elastic band doesn't bother me nor does it pinch or dig into the waist. Overall, the legging is flattering if ignoring all the wrinkles. It shapes and lifts the butt quite nicely. By the way, you do need to wear a seamless panty to avoid VPL. Comfort - The texture of the fabric is different on both sides. The sparkling side (outside) is a little bit rough. It is scratchy when rubbing against the skin of my arms in bound asansas, such as Pasasana and Marichyasana. Fortunately, the inside is smooth although it's not early as soft as Beyond Yoga Signature ultra soft fabric. You may feel swampy wearing this legging in a hot and humid day or practicing hot yoga. Other than that, it is a comfortable piece for various activities. Hands down to the Dusted Microstretch fabric of Beyond Yoga Dusted High Waisted Midi Legging. Not only is it stylish, but it is also high performance. It is super stretchy with the perfect amount of compression, suitable for various activities from yoga to high impact workouts. That said, it fall short of the breathability and the metallic sheen is scratchy, which bothers me in bound asanas. Overall, it is flattering and I recommend this legging to everyone if it falls within your budget. * When taking these pictures, I planned to return the legging so that tag was still attached.
