Picture
PROS / IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets are budget friendly. They provides all the needs for yoga and gym workouts. The brushed fabric is cottony soft and breathable. Two side pockets hold essentials from studio to street, including a large iPhone.

CONS / The fabric attracts lint and hair. I do not recommend wearing it with pets around. Other than the black color, it shows sweat marks. The inseam is too long resulting in extra fabric bunchy at the bottom on me (I am 5'2").

BOTTOM LINE / I recommend IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets to anyone who is looking for affordable leggings without sacrificing the performance. The medium compression fabric suits for various exercises from gentle restorative yoga to high impact workouts. It is squat proof, but it doesn't mask sweat stains. I also want to point out that it attracts lint.

Injuries can happen anytime, anywhere. It doesn't matter how careful or how experience I am as a yogini, it is inevitable. I lose count of the number of injuries I've had. Although most injuries occurred during the first couple years of Ashtanga practice, I am not pain free today. I learn to work with the pain and the body I have. I aim to practice smart. I stop pushing my body unnecessarily. Yoga isn't a competition, and I don't need to prove anything to anyone, especially I am practicing at home alone.

I have leveled up my workout significantly since the pandemic. I lift heavier weights. I do longer and more intensive workouts. I cycle three times a week (~7 mile ride twice and a long 17 mile ride) and I walk ~1.2 miles daily. In addition, I still practice Ashtanga yoga. I feel great and strong. Being active has become an important part of my life.

Top: IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets, Black & Navy, S (true to size). I normally wear XS and S fits a bit loose.
Bottom: Lululemon Like a Cloud Sports Bra, Lavender Dew, 6 (true to size).
I go through phases. I used to love patterned yoga pants, as you can see from the most leggings I share here, but I change my taste these days. More than 90% of my recent purchases are plain colored leggings. When I said plain colors, they are not black, grey or navy. Instead, I mean wild colors like neon pink, yellow, turquoise, etc. I wasn't a fan of Beyond Yoga Spacedye Caught In The Midi High Waisted Leggings, but they are one of my recent favorites. I've added quite a few pairs to my wardrobe. It doesn't matter what style or pattern of leggings I am in to, I would never compromise with the performance, quality, fit, and comfort.

What I want to share today is from a highly rated brand on Amazon, IKEEP. They reached out to me for collaboration in October. I gladly agreed. I love to try new brands. Although the leggings are gifted to me, reviews are my own. They sent me two pairs of High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets, one black and on navy. Neither color would be my top choice, but it's nice to add basic colors to my wardrobe. They can pretty much go with any outfit. Without further due, let's take a close look of IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets.

1. Size – I'd say it's true to size. I size up (S) and it fits a tad loose. For your reference, I wear Lululemon size 4.

2. Style – Full length legging, which is too long for me. I am 5'2" (158cm).

3. Inseam –  28" long.

4. Front Rise – 11.25" high rise.

5. Waistband – 4 5/8" wide with a 7/8" encased elastic band. There is a stash pocket.

6. Fabric – 77% Polyester and 23% Spandex. It is medium compression.

7. Design for – Yoga and gym workouts.

8. Cost – They are  $23.99 on Amazon.

9. Stitch Seam – Flatlocking seams.

10. Crotch Seam
 – Unlined triangle gusset.

The leggings are made in China.

Performance -
The brushed fabric is four-way stretch, breathable and sweat wicking. It is medium compression, which is suitable for both yoga and high impact workouts. The material isn't thin, but it allows me stay cool during sweaty exercises. The high waist design keeps my tummy tucked in and provides great coverage. I would expect to have more support if I had the right size, XS instead of S. One minor complaint I have is that the leggings show sweat stains other than black. I am surprised to see sweat marks along hip creases during the yoga practice given how dark the navy color is.

Quality -
IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets are well made. They are constructed with flatlocking seams with a gusset for reinforcement. Even though the gusset is unlined, it doesn't affect its function. The leggings are squat proof. If you choose a light color, make sure to wear a nude underwear to avoid see-through. The leggings have been through quite a few washes and they are holding up well. I do not see any pilling and color fading; however, they attract lint. I wouldn't wear them with pets around unless having pets hair all over the leggings doesn't bother you.

Having side pockets seems to be an on-going trend. I can see the practicality aspect of it from street to studio. Being a home yoga practitioner, I would much rather have a smooth and less seam finishing.

Fit -
According to the size guide (table on the right), I am M waist and XL hip. If I go by the weight, I am S. Just to be safe, I went with S since Asian clothes tend to run small compared American brands. It turns out that I could have asked for my regular size XS. Although S fits me, the waist and the ankle aren't a snug fit. The waist doesn't stay put during my workouts. I constantly pull the waistband up. Also, it is unflattering with the loose ankle and extra fabric bunching at the bottom. I prefer a smooth look at the ankle. If the inseam is 2-3 inches shorter (25" as opposed to 28"), it would have been perfect. That said, the leggings shape and lift all the right places of the body.

Besides two large side pockets. there is also a small stash pocket on the waist.

Comfort -
The brushed fabric is cottony soft and breathable. It is the type of the material I would wear for lounging. Not only does it keep me cool during the workout, it also makes me warm while sitting on the couch in winter. The high waist design provides tons of coverage and support. Even though there is an encased elastic band, it doesn't pinch or dig into the skin. The wide elastic band (7/8") helps to eliminate the pinch. That said, I still prefer a flat waistband.

IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets got you covered. They provide all the performance needs for most activities from yoga to gym workouts. The brushed fabric is breathable and moisture wicking. The leggings are true to size. While I like its cottony soft fabric, it is a lint magnet. Both navy and black colors are completely opaque; however, navy shows sweat stains. The leggings shape and lift all the right places of the body. If you are 5'4" or above, the length is perfect. Since I am only 5'2", there is extra fabric bunching at the bottom.

IKEEP Criss-Cross Back Padded Strappy Sports Bra -

I got IKEEP Criss-Cross Back Padded Strappy Sports Bra couple weeks after receiving the leggings. Since I have taken photos of leggings pairing with the Lululemon Like a Cloud Sports Bra, I took additional set of pictures to share the sports bra.

Top: IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets, Black, S (true to size). I normally wear XS and S fits a bit loose.
Bottom: IKEEP Criss-Cross Back Padded Strappy Sports Bra, Black, S (true to size).

I like the strappy design on the back of IKEEP Criss-Cross Back Padded Strappy Sports Bra. It's cute to wear it by itself as well as to layer with a open back tank top. Although the fabric content is the same as IKEEP High Waist Yoga Pants with Pockets, it doesn't feel alike. The leggings have a soft brushed feel, while the sports bra is slick (smooth and slippery). It is breathable and sweat wicking.

I am M (34A-B) according to the size chart (table on the right), but S fits perfect on me with tons of support for high impact workouts. With such high support, I don't wear it for yoga. I would go with M as suggested for a more relax fit for yoga. Overall, the sports bra provides great coverage, keeping the side boob covered.

I recommend Yvette For A Better Day High Waist Legging to everyone. Not only is it high performance, but it is also budget friendly. The recycled fabric is soft, four-way stretch and breathable. It reminds me of Lululemon Luon but with more support (higher compression), which makes it suitable for various workouts.

CRZ YOGA Naked Feeling High Waist Legging is a great dupe of Lululemon WU HR Tight Nulux. For $24, it provides literally everything I need for various exercises, including asana practice, HIIT and weight lifting. Moreover, it keeps my belly tucked in and gives a flattering fit.
