Overall Rating - 8.4 / 10 PROS / The glossy liquid finish of Carbon38 High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging is stylish and versatile. It gives a sleek look from the studio to the street. The fabric is soft, stretchy, breathable and sweat wicking. The wide waistband keeps everything in place during any workout. CONS / The elastic band is too wide and not comfortable. It makes me feel restricted. The fabric is not wrinkle resistant. It gets very wrinkled if I keep it folded in the closet. BOTTOM LINE / I love the performance of the glossy, leather like fabric. It covers everything needed from yoga to high impact gym workouts. The 7/8 length is perfect for my height (5'2"). The only complaint I have is the ultra wide encased elastic band. Although it keeps everything tucks in and stays put, it is too uncomfortable to wear.

Finally, it's time to share the last pair of the leggings I bought from Carbon38 during the X'mas sales, Carbon38 High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging. Takara Leggings are the best selling collection from Carbon38. There are various colors and styles to choose from. Last week, Carbon38 introduced a new print, High Waisted Takara Leopard Legging. It is available in two styles, full length and 7/8 length. While the full length only comes with one color black, the 7/8 length has denim blue in addition to black. I bet many of you have your eyes on this cutie just like me. I can't think of a better time to share my High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging as I expect it to be the same as the High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Leopard Legging except for the print. High Waisted Takara Leopard Legging
The legging is made in USA. Performance - The fabric is almost identical to DYI High Shine Signature Tight but slightly higher compression. It is four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. I like how stretchy it is allowing the wide range of movement yet sufficient compression for muscles support. The legging works for both yoga and high impact workouts. Thanks to the black color, it doesn't show any sweat stain. I expect to see sweat spots in other colors. The lighter the color is, the worse the wet stains are. The high waist provides tons of coverage and support, and it stays in place during exercising. One complaint I have about the wide elastic band is that it gets in the way in certain poses (too wide and too thick to move with the body in side bends and twists). Quality - The legging is constructed with flatlocking seams throughout and there is a lined gusset for reinforcement. It is 100% opaque. The glossy fabric reminds me of the velvet but with a much shorter pile. It feels different depending on the direction you run your hand through. The direction which feels softer (from the waistband down to the bottom hem) indicates the direction of the pile (grain) and vice versa. I notice the fabric gets wrinkled easily. It doesn't bother me, but you can avoid it by hanging the legging instead of folding it when putting in the closet. Fit - It is true to size. Except for Carbon38 Tanjung Legging that runs small, Carbon38's leggings are true to size in general. The 7/8 length is perfect for petite ladies like me as it will never be too long with extra fabric gathering around the ankle. Carbon38 High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging is cute and flattering. I wore it to teach the class the other day and the first thing the student said to me was "I like your legging, it's cute." It is a classic black legging but the glossy liquid finish makes it pop. You can never go wrong with a black legging. It is the color that creates the most leggy and skinny good. That said, I wish it could have lifted the butt a little more. Since the fabric is lightweight, the panty line can be visible. You can see it by the hip crease in the left picture below. Wearing a seamless underwear is a must (I didn't when shooting the pictures). The high waisted style keeps everything tucked in and provides an awesome coverage for the midsection. Comfort - If it wasn't for the super wide elastic band, I would have highly recommended Carbon38 High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging and purchased more colors, especially the leopard print. A 3' wide elastic band is my limit (the width of Terez Tall Band Legging). This over 4" wide elastic band is very uncomfortable. Since it is high rise, the waistband covers way up to the lower ribs. As a result, I feel restricted when inhaling (hard to expand the rib cage). It also gets in the way in certain asanas. It wish it has the flat waistband (no elastic), just like DYI High Shine Signature Tight. After wearing it to the yoga and tabata classes once, I've not worn it for any exercise as I couldn't tolerate the discomfort from the waistband. I would only wear it when teaching, but rarely. The glossy liquid finish of Carbon38 High Waisted 7/8 Length Takara Legging adds style and versatility for a sleek look when transitioning from the studio to the street. The fabric is high performance that covers all the needs for any workout. It is lightweight with medium compression. While there is a lot to like about this legging, the discomfort from the wide elastic band is unforgivable. Even though it stays in place and keeps everything tucked in, it gets in the way in the asana practice. If you really like the liquid legging, I suggest original Takara Leggings over high waisted ones. Related Reviews -
