DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop

PROS / DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop covers everything I need for yoga as well as gym workouts. The medium high compression fabric is four-way stretch, breathable and moisture wicking. The flat and wide waistband fits comfortably around the stomach and stays put with movement. 

CONS / I can't think of anything I dislike about this legging. If I have to pick one, I wish the bottom hem could have fitted tighter below the calf. 

BOTTOM LINE / DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop is a great legging that I highly recommend to everyone. Either you are a dedicated yogini, a gym rat or neither, the legging has you covered. It provides a wide range of movement for yoga, sufficient compression to support muscles for high intensity workouts, and a comfortably hug for lounging at home.

I don't own many DYI leggings, but I like every pair in the Yogini's Closet. DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop was released last summer. I had been eyeing on it since then, but I didn't purchase it until last Dec when it was on sale at Studio 128 Fit. By the way, DYI warehouse sale starts today and this legging is currently on sale for only $28.2. All my stripe leggings are either black/white or black/grey color combination. It is nice to get a different color this time. There are so many things I like about this crop, and I can't wait to share with everyone!

1. Size – It runs small and I wear a size small. That said, I probably can fit in an XS for a more compression fit.

2. Style – Crop. It fits more like a 7/8 legging on me.

3. Inseam –  22.5" long. It hits the bottom of the calf.

4. Front Rise – 11" high rise.

​5. Waistband – 5.25" flat waistband. 

​​6. Fabric – 81% Polyester, 19% Spandex. It is a medium weight fabric with medium high compression.

7. Design for – Yoga and gym workouts.

​8. Cost – Retail price is $90. I bought it from Studio 128 Fit for $60 (30% off during Black Friday Sale). It is currently on super sale at DYI for $28.2.

9. Stitch Seam – Flatlocking seams.

10. Crotch Seam​ – Unlined triangle gusset.

Performance - 
DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop is my recent favorite legging. I love its medium weight and medium high compression fabric. It provides the perfect balance to keeps me warm in the cold weather while helping me stay cool in sweaty yoga classes and gym workouts. The fabric is quite similar to Lululemon Full-On Luextreme but slightly lower in compression. I find it perfect for exercises I do, i.e., yoga, Tabata and HIIT. Of course, you may want high compression leggings for running. The crop is four-way stretch, breathable, moisture wicking and fast dry. Thanks for the high waistband. It keeps my stomach covered, provides support for the midsection and stays put throughout the workout. Most importantly, the crop passes the bend over test. It's 100% opaque.​

Quality - ​
The qualities of the fabric and construction are good. Flatlocking seams are used throughout. There is a gusset for reinforcement. I've worn and washed the crop few times, and the color is holding up well. I haven't noticed any pilling either. 

Fit - 
It is tricky when it comes to the sizing of DYI's bottoms. Some can be true to size, while others may run small based on my experience. As to DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop, I size up (small). It fits comfortably, but I probably can go with my regular size, XS, for a snugger fit. At least, it is not as loose as DYI High Shine Signature Tight, which looks very awkward around my crotch. When I compare this crop to Lululemen WU Crop size 4, it is ~1" larger in circumference along the leg. It is probably the reason why the bottom hem fits loose on me. Next time, I will order my regular size (XS) from DYI.

Horizontal stripe leggings always create a leggy look, and DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop is no exception. In addition, it shapes and lifts the butt nicely. The flat waistband keeps everything tucked in and hides the muffin top.

​Comfort - 
If you like Lululemon Full-On Luextreme fabric, you will like DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop. It provides a comfortable hug of the body. The flat waistband is pinch free. What an awesome crop!

DYI Navy + Ivy Striped Printed Signature Crop is a great legging that covers the look, fit and function (everything you need). The Full-On Luxtreme like fabric is four-way stretch, breathable, moisture wicking and fast dry. Though it is less compression than Full-On Luxtreme, it is more than enough for yoga and gym workouts. The flat waistband is wide and comfortable. It covers the belly and provides a great support for the midsection. As to the sizing, I suggest to order your regular size for a tight fit.
