Styling Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging in Ardha Baddha Padmottanasana by Yoginis Closet
Top: Lululemon Free To Be Bra (Wild), Size 4 (true to size)
Bottom: Electric & Rose, Starry Night Legging, Size Small (run small)
PROS / Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging is made with soft and breathable Polyester / Nylon blend fabric. It features sweat wicking and quick dry. It is great for yoga and other high sweat workouts.

CONS / Poor quality. I see multiples snags on the legging after one time wear/wash as well as pills on the inner side of waistband. The thin elastic band on the waistband makes it uncomfortable to wear and digs into the skin.

BOTTOM LINE / I like how stretchy and breathable the Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging is. The poor quality, snags and pills after one wash, is not acceptable. I hate to say this, but it is probably the worst quality I've seen.

The brand is a reflection of the music, art and surf culture as well as the lifestyle Eric & Eric love. If you are interested to know more about the brand and people behind it, there is a great interview-based article from The Body Book worth reading.

Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging Review

1. Size – I wear size small. The legging runs small. Do order one size up.

2. Style – Ankle length legging.

3. Inseam – 21.5" long, which is slightly above my ankle.

4. Front Rise – 8.75" standard (medium) rise, which sits below my navel.

5. Waistband – 3” waistband, which is pretty standard. The thin elastic band inside the waistband digs into my belly and it's quite uncomfortable to wear, especially when I am sitting. The worst part is the legging gives me the muffin top. I seriously thought that I need to work out more until I see the same thing on the modeling picture.
6. Fabric – 76% Polyester , 24% Spandex. The fabric is silky soft. It is also breathable and moisture wicking. Unfortunately, it pills and snags easily. The fabric seems very fragile. I have found several pills and snags on the legging.

7. Design for – Heated, non-heated yoga and any other workouts.

8. Cost – Retail price $88. I got 20% off from Anthropologie.

9. Stitch Seam – Comfortable flat locking seams.

10. Crotch Seam – Lined diamond shaped gusset.

There is an embroidered logo at the bottom of right leg, which is a very nice detail. By the way, the legging is made in Los Angeles, CA.

I really want to like the Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging. The pattern is so pretty. It also performs well in yoga. Note, I practice in the heated room (~83 degree Fahrenheit). The legging is breathable and moisture wicking.  Although the waistband digs into my belly, it doesn't cause as much discomfort as I am sitting in class. However, the legging is not flattering my body curvatures and the muffin top bothers me a lot.

The poor quality is a major turn off for me. When I saw snags on the legging during practice (my second time wearing it), I was so mad. I have no idea how that happened. I take care of all my yoga pants the same way. I go through roughly 10 outfits a week. I wash yoga clothes along without mixing with any other clothes or towels in the washer, and I hang dry them. I treat them like delicates. I only wear them when I exercise (yoga, tabata, strength training) or teach yoga, all of which are studio type indoor exercises. If it's just one snag, maybe that's an accident. But, there are quite a few snags I find. Then I see pills on the inner side of waistband. What? Is that real? I am shocked. I don't remember seeing pills or snags on any of my yoga pants. It is unbelievable.

I don't like to give any brand negative feedback, but I don't want to lie either. Maybe the Starry Night Legging is the only item from Electric & Rose that has quality issue. I like to give it the benefit of the doubt. But, I am not sure if I will purchase another legging from the company again.

Where to Buy

Electric & Rose Starry Night Legging is available on Anthropologie. I have not seen the legging sold in any other store. The same pattern but different style, Voyage Legging, is available on Electric & Rose website.

Other stores carry Electric & Rose include Barney and evolve.
