Overall Rating - 9.0 / 10
PROS / Inner Fire Trellis Capri is made with recycled polyester that is breathable, moisture wicking, fast dry and SPF50. The capri gives a comfortable and flattering fit, and the high waistband provides good support and coverage.
CONS / The capri is not completely opaque even though I have to look really hard to see the panty when bending over. The encased elastic band slightly digs into my waist. It doesn't cause discomfort, but I prefer a flat waistband as it hides the muffin top better. BOTTOM LINE / Inner Fire Trellis Capri is breathable, moisture wicking and fast dry. The material is sleek and provides SFP50 for outdoor activities. The capri fits and shapes the body well. In addition, it covers all the needs for yoga and more. A light color underwear is recommended to avoid see-through. About Inner Fire -
Inner Fire is an eco-friendly yoga clothing company based in Vancouver, BC. The company was founded in 2012 by Leah Emmott, a yoga teacher and a designer. Inner Fire offers clever and inspirational designs that can be worn on and off the mat. Their philosophy is to make people smile, laugh and feel inspired. They believe that through these subtle interactions, they can help each other ignite the fires within us.
In an ages of fashion and excess waste, Emmott believes the importance of minimizing our impact on the planet. By using recycled materials in their leggings, the company is doing their part to remove waste from our ecological systems. Their sublimation printing process also minimizes waste as they only use exact amount of ink needed for each piece and no extra water is used in the process. Top: Niyama Sol The X-Back, Black, S (run small).
Bottom: Inner Fire Trellis Capri, XS (true to size).
Ever since I met Niyama Sol, I am in love with the recycled fabric because it's good for the environment, and I also like the texture and performance of it. Some well known eco-friendly activewear companies include Niyama Sol, Teeki, Inner Fire and RE3. I have reviewed Niyama Sol and Teeki before. Their fabrics are similar, cottony soft, but Teeki is slighter thinner than Niyama Sol. I haven't tried RE3. I do have my eyes on Aztec Legging, and I hope to review it soon. After following Inner Fire for a while, I finally decided to give it a try.
Here comes this week's review, Inner Fire Trellis Capri.
Performance - Inner Fire Trellis Capri is moisture wicking and fast dry. The medium compression recycled fabric is breathable, but I feel Niyama Sol offers slightly better breathability. In terms of elasticity, it is stretchy and ease of movement; however, it falls short compared to my favorites. RPET fabrics are more prone to be see-through than other fabrics. I can slightly see the underwear (with a dark panty) when bending over, but it's more opaque than Niyama Sol and Teeki. Other than that, it works well for activities I do. Quality - After quite a few wears and washes, Inner Fire Trellis Capri is holding up well. There is no pilling and color fading. Like most of high end leggings, it is constructed with flatlocking seams and includes a lined gusset. Fit - It is true to size. I wear an XS, which is the smallest size they sell. If you are Lululemon size 2, XS may be too big for you. The medium compression fabric along with mocroccan-inspired trellis pattern creates a leggy and flattering look. I like how the high waistband provides support and coverage for my tummy and stays put with movement. The only downfall is that the encased elastic band slightly digs into my waist. Comfort - The sleek RPET fabric is comfortable for long wear. As brought up earlier, the elastic band digs into my waist, but it doesn't cause discomfort. I don't know since when I become picky on the waistband. While I was going through my closet the other day, I found all my old Lululmeon pants (more than 3 years old) have elastic bands. I was happy with them until I met Lululemon Wunder Under High Rise Tights. Now, I am spoiled by the High Rise Flat Waistband. There is one thing I do want to point out about the elastic band. Normally it is at the top edge of the waistband, but it is sewn ~1/4" below the top on Inner Fire Trellis Capri. As shown in the picture below, the elastic band is located above the Inner Fire logo where the horizontal seam is. I believe that's one of the reasons why it doesn't pinch into my waist as bad as others or cause discomfort.
Inner Fire Trellis Capri is moisture wicking and fast dry. The sleek RPET material is SPF50, great for outdoor enthusiasts. The high waist style provides decent support and coverage. The capri is slightly see through even though I have to look really hard, I highly recommend to wear a light color panty. Overall, I like how it looks (flattering) and fits (comfortable) on me. I would definitely invest more Inner Fire Leggings in the future.

Niyama Sal Esme Beachcomber Crop helps me stay cool during exercise and makes asanas easy. The wide waistband keeps the tummy tucked. Moreover, the crop lifts and shapes the body well.
