Overall Rating - 8.2 / 10
PROS / I like the high waist style of Niyama Black Rose High Waist Legging. It provides great coverage and support. The fabric is high compression, four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry.
CONS / Although the No-Slip-Waist (two thin silicone stripes fused into the fabric on the inside of the waistband) keeps the waistband in place during workout, it lacks of breathability and irritates the skin. BOTTOM LINE / Niyama Black Rose High Waist Legging is made with the sleek, lightweight and fast dry Italian material. The high waist style keeps the tummy tucked in and provides great support; however, the No-Slip Waist doesn't work for me due to the poor breathability. About Niyama -

Black Rose High Rise Legging is my second pair of legging from Niyama. The first pair, Gypsy Love Legging, was gifted by Niyama when I signed up the Niyama500 program last year. The Black Rose High Rise Legging was the present from winning the IG Yoga Challenge, #DifferentWaysOfYoga. Although I didn't pay for both leggings, all the reviews and feedback are my own.
I was excited when seeing high waist leggings on Niyama, which weren't available last year. If you have followed my blog for a while, you would know that I prefer the high rise style over the standard one. Even though Niyama starts making high waist leggings, available prints (5 prints) are limited. I wish there are more patterns to choose from for the high waist style because there are so many cute prints released lately, which only come with the standard waist. Maybe general public prefers the standard rise leggings. Anyway, let me introduce you Niyama Black Rose High Rise Legging.
The legging is made in Hungary.
Performance - The Italian fabric used for Niyama Black Rose High Waist Legging is sleek, high compression and fast dry. Compared to Niyama Sol RPET and Lululemon Nulu and Nulux fabrics, my favorite materials, I feel that it is less stretchy and breathable, especially the waistband. Quality - It is constructed with comfortable flatlocking seams with a triangle shaped gusset, which is single layer (unlined). The fabric is 100% opaque and anti-filling. Also, there is no sign of fading or discoloration after few wahses. Overall, it is a well made legging. Fit - It is true to size. I wear Lululemon size 4 and the XS fits me great. With that said, I had trouble when putting the pant on the first time. The waistband was too tight that I almost couldn't pull the legging up. It stuck at the hip. Luckily, it stretches out after the first wear and hugs me like a glove now. The legging shapes legs well and creates a lengthy look. It may not lift the butt as nicely as some of my favorite leggings, but it does enhance body curvatures well. I am glad that Niyama starts making high waist leggings. They were not available last year when I got Gypsy Love Legging. The high waist style offers better coverage and support than the standard one. Moreover, it hides the muffin top.
Niyama Black Rose High Waist Legging is made with the sleek and fast dry Italian fabric. The high waist provides great coverage and support, and it hides the muffin top. Even though there is an encased elastic band, the waistband is pinch free. The legging hugs my body well and gives a flattering look. Unfortunately, the No-Slip-Waist does not work for me. It not only lacks of breathability, but also irritated my skin.
