Niyama Sol is a recycled fitness and fashion brand based in Las Vegas. Allison Hart and her boyfriend Martin Hinton, one of the owners of TruFusion, had an idea of designing unique clothing for the need at TruFusion. After sharing this idea with Cristina Osorio, an instructor at TruFusion with background in fitness clothing and fashion design, Allison and Cristina decided to create Niyama Sol in 2015.
What makes Niyama Sol unique is the fabric. It is made from recycled plastic bottles and the prints are sublimation dying on white fabric. The clothes are designed to be worn from yoga and fitness classes to swimming and surfing. They are also comfortable and fashionable that you would want to wear when lounging at home and out running errands. The versatility, sustainability and unique designs set Niyama Sol apart in the competitive activewear market. YOGINI'S CLOSET UNFOLD -

1. Size – I wear size small. Niyama Sol runs small, so do order one size up. I wear Lululemon size 4. Because its sizing is off, I rate it 9 out of 10 for "Comfort & Fit."
2. Style – 7/8 crop. 3. Inseam – 21" long. It sits slightly above my ankle (I am 5'2). 4. Front Rise – 9.5" high rise. 5. Waistband – 4.5" wide waistband. It can be worn high or low by folding it down. I like to wear it high to cover my belly. I am happy with the quality. All my Niyama Sol leggings are durable and no pilling, chafing or color fading. |
6. Fabric – 84% RPET and 16% Spandex. It is lightweight and moisture wicking. I do like the feel and performance of the RPET fabric, but it can be see-through with dark color underwear. For that reason, it only scores 7 for in "Performance." I always wear nude underwear to pair with Niyama Sol leggings, which is less ideal but doesn't stop me from buying them.
7. Design for – I love to wear it for yoga practice (in heated room between 80-85 degree Fahrenheit). I also wear it for HIIT and Tabata workouts at home. I haven't worn it to the gym yet because the pattern is a little too loud for the gym I go to at work. I don't need to stand out in front of coworkers. You know what I mean. I normally wear something in dark or neutral color to the gym. |
8. Cost – Retail price is between $82 to $84. I received it as a gift from simplyWORKOUT. It is currently on sale at simplyWORKOUT for $68. If you use the code yoginiscloset, you can get another 20% off.
9. Stitch Seam – Comfortable flat locking seams.
10. Crotch Seam – Lined gusset.

I don't think I need to put more emphasize on how much I like Niyama Sol leggings, or I wouldn't continue buying new prints. The eco-friendly RPET fabric is soft, four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. The fit and style are amazing, but the size runs small. The wide waistband without drawstring or elastic band makes it comfortable to wear and keeps the belly tucked. Most importantly, it lifts and shapes the body well. Just remember, do not wear dark underwear. Don't worry, it is completely opaque with nude underwear.
