Overall Rating - 8.4/ 10PROS / The soft fabric along with the seamless construction makes Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging comfortable to wear both on and off the mat. It is four-way stretch, sweat wicking and quick dry. Not only is the open and intricate mesh design stylish, but it also creates a leggy look. CONS / The legging is see-through when wearing a dark color underwear. It is not designed for petite women. The front rise and inseam are too long for me. The smallest size, small, can be too big for those in size XXS or Lululemon size 2. BOTTOM LINE / Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging covers almost all the needs for yoga if it wasn't see-through. Despite the cute mesh detail that creates a leggy look, it is not a great fit for petite women due to the long rise and inseam.
About Sweaty Betty -What an exciting news! Starting April 5th, you can find Sweaty Betty in Nordstrom, both online and in store (25 locations in the US). Although there is a Sweaty Betty store close by me (~15 miles away), Nordstrom is even more convenient. It's right by the studio where I teach and only 5 miles away from home. You can learn more about the brand by visiting Q & A with Sweaty Betty Founder Tamara Hill-Norton and my previous review, Sweaty Betty Contour Workout Legging. Details of Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging -Top: Lululemon All Sports Bra, Hyper Stripe Mauvelous Blacks, Size 4 (true to size). Bottom: Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Tight, S (true to size). Prism Seamless Legging is my second pair legging from Sweaty Betty. Although I visit their store and website regularly, I haven't purchased many clothes from them. Sweaty Betty offers high performance, quality and unique print products, but most of them do not suit my needs. For example, their leggings have either encased elastic bands and/or drawstring on waistbands, which I often find them uncomfortable. Also, their products cost more than average price, 10-20% more than Lululemon. With that said, I still follow their new arrivals and sales closely. I had my eyes on Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging since last November. I loved how soft the fabric was when I tried it on in store. I didn't purchase it back then because it was pricey and wasn't a perfect fit on me. I can't recall how much it was, but it was in the range between $120-$135. Since then, I had been seeking for similar leggings and hoping to find one with the right fit. Although I found quite a few nice seamless leggings, such as Alala Seamless Legging and Avocado Vintage Easy Rider Legging, I couldn't forgot how pretty and comfortable Prism Seamless Legging was. Finally, it was on sale and I decided to buy it. I knew there were few things I didn't like, but it was worthy for the amount I paid for, $39.2 + tax. Let's take a close look of this cutie, Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging.
The legging is made in Portugal. Performance - Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging is medium to low compression and works great for yoga. It lacks of support (compression) for high impact workout in my opinion. The fabric is four way stretch, breathable, moisture wicking and quick dry. It covers all the needs on the mat.
Fit - It is true to size. I wear a small and it's a comfortable fit. If you are Lululemon size 4-6, the small would fit. Since it doesn't come with XS, this legging will probably be too big for those in Lululemon size 2. Unlike Contour Workout Legging, which comes with the short length, Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging only has regular length, which is too long for me (I am 5'2"). I feel the legging is designed for non-petite women due to the long rise and inseam. Also, the waistband goes way above the belly button and it fits weird around the crotch area. Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging gives a leggy look and the mesh design is flattering. Since the legging is not very high in compression, it doesn't shape or lift the butt nicely like Niyama Sol Malbec Rib Knit Barefoot Legging does. I do like high waist leggings, but this one is too high for my taste. I don't know if it's meant to be a such high rise legging or the rise is simply too long for me. The elastic band and drawstring are at my lower rib, which is not very comfortable. I end up folding the washstand down during my practice. Comfort - The fabric is super soft and stretchy, similar to Lululemon Reveal Tight Precision but not as see-through. It is comfortable to wear it on and off the mat. The only downfall is the waistband sitting too high causing discomfort. Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging covers all the needs for yoga. It is four-way stretch (very stretchy), breathable, moisture wicking and quick dry. The seamless construction adds extra comfort to the soft fabric. While the cut and intricate mesh create a leggy look, the medium low compression doesn't lift the bum well. The legging is not designed for petite women as the rise and inseam are quite long. My least favorite parts of the legging are the waistband being above my waistline (uncomfortable) and the sheerness. I am not sure if the legging is worth the full price; but for $39.4, it is one of the best purchases I've made. Where to Buy -Unfortunately, Sweaty Betty Prism Seamless Legging has sold out.
