PROS / Varley Kensington Legging is made with the ultra soft and sleek fabric, which is four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. It is cute and covers needs for most gym workouts. It comes with three stash pockets on the waistband, two small ones at front and a big one on the back.
CONS / The legging runs big. My regular size XS fits loose on me, especially behind the knees and the bottom hems. The drawstring and elastic band leave skin indentation marks. Since it is light color, it can be see-through unless wearing a nude panty. BOTTOM LINE / Varley Kensington Legging is such an eye-catching legging made with the high performance fabric. It is soft, stretchy, sweat wicking and fast dry. While I like most features of the legging, there are two things that are less than ideal. 1) It isn't 100% opaque. I have to wear a nude panty to avoid see-through. 2) The elastic band provides lots of support, but it also pinches the waist leaving indentation marks.
Pardon me for the poor picture quality this week. I've tried my best to capture the real color of the legging, but they didn't turn out well. I am still learning and working on improving the photo shooting skill.

It's been a while since I purchased anything from Varley last time. Please visit Varley Union Legging for my very first legging from the brand. My experience with Varley has been its soft and high performance fabrics but pricey. Their leggings are quite popular, which makes it nearly impossible to get one on sale. I was quite lucky this time. I found the Kensington Legging on the sale rack in a local Anthropologie store. There was only one left and it happened to be my size. Of course, I had to try it on. Even through the legging ran big, I decided to get it because I liked its soft fabric and the print. Most important, the price is right!
The legging is made in China. I am pointing out the three stash pockets in the bottom left picture. Performance - In general, I like the fabric Varley uses for their leggings. I have tried and touched quite a few pairs, and I am pretty impressed so far though I don't own many of their leggings. Unlike Varley Union Legging, which is sleek and high compression, the Kensington Legging is medium compression (maybe I need a size down for a more compression fit). The fabric feels quite similar to Niyama Sol RPET but thicker. It is SOFT! I like how stretchy and breathable it is. It also dries fast. The drawstring, which is an elastic band, keeps the waistband stays put during the workout and makes me feel secured. I recommend this pant for training and running instead of yoga due to the style of the waistband. Just like Lululemon Fast and Free Tight (same waistband style), it is designed for gym workouts. The drawstring offers a custom fit and provides additional security. There are three stash pockets, two smaller one at front and a bigger one on the back, for you put few essentials like keys and credit cards during your workout. Quality - The legging is sewn with flatlocking seams and there is a gusset for reinforcement. While it is well made, the light color fabric isn't completely opaque. I can only wear a nude underwear or it would not pass the bend over test. The underwear can not be any light color except for nude. I've tried light pink and light blue panties, but neither color passes the test. I am not surprised when wearing a light color legging. Different to Varley Union Legging, a strip of fabric running between inner thighs through the crotch, the Kensington Legging has the typical inseams. There are outer seams on the front of the thighs running down the legs and wrap around the calf. It is an unique design, but I am not sure if there is any benefit performance wise. Fit - It runs big and my regular size XS is a relax fit, which is uncommon for Varley. It fits loose behind the knees and the bottom hems (see the picture below). Since this is the last pair I found in the store, I don't know if an XXS will give me a more compression fit or just too tight. I like its high waist style. It makes me feel secured and provides lots of coverage for the stomach. Due to the light color and relax fit, the Kensington Legging isn't the most flattering legging I've tried. It is okay, but I wish it would shape and lift the butt better. I am just being picky here. After all, it is a cute legging. Comfort - Overall, it is a comfortable fit. Due to the design of the waistband, it makes me feel more restricted than I like. It also leaves skin indentation marks. That said, it's definitely well designed and suitable for gym workouts.
Varley Kensington Legging is a great legging for training. The fabric is ultra soft. It is four-way stretch, breathable and fast dry. You can also wear it to yoga if the drawstring on the waistband doesn't bother you. Although it is a great feature to keep the waistband stay put, it also causes more restriction. I like the extra security/support when working out, but not so much in yoga. Due to the light color Coral Snake print, the legging is prone to see through unless wearing a nude panty.
