PROS / Vimmia Reversible Spellbound Legging is a high performance compression legging featuring four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. It is fully reversible and can be worn with either side, multi-colored snake-inspired pattern on one side and dramatic floral on the reverse side. 

CONS / Like most bottoms from Vimmia that it is not high waisted, which I prefer for better support and coverage. It also costs ~30% more than other comparable leggings in the market. 

BOTTOM LINE / As expected, the quality and performance of Vimmia Reversible Spellbound Legging are unquestionable. It shapes and lifts the right place of my body. The legging is versatile that can be worn with either print side facing out. I wish it comes with the high waisted style and it's priced at a more affordable range.

Vimmia Reversible Spellbound Legging Review

I am a big fan of Vimmia ever since I met the brand years ago. I like it’s unique prints and designs, which I don’t normally find on other activewear brands. Clothing brands including athleisures tend to copy each other’s designs to follow the trend in fashion, but it is not the case for Vimmia. Vimmia has been creating fashion-forward pieces that stands out from others and the Reversible Spellbound Legging is one of the examples. There are many snake print leggings in the market that are more or less the same, but the Reversible Spellbound Legging breaks the norms for its distinctive and vivid color. 

Let me share this week’s CLOSET UNFOLD of Vimmia Reversible Spellbound Legging with you.

1. Size – It is true to size. I wear an XS, which is equivalent to Lululemon size 4.

2. Style – ​​Full length legging. It also comes with the capri.

3. Inseam – 28.5”, which is longer than my preferred length. There is extra fabric bunching around the ankle unless I can wear it over the heel (I am 5’2”).

Normally I would prefer the capri over the full length legging. Since I wasn't able to find the capri on sale, I decided to go with the legging.

4. Front Rise – 8.75” standard rise. 

​5. Waistband – ​3” waistband, which is a pretty standard width. I do not want it less 3" wide or it may dig or pinch into the skin. For a 3” waistband, it actually keeps my tummy tucked and hides the muffin top, which is quite a nice surprise. 

I’ve not seen any high rise or high waisted legging from Vimmia. I am hoping that will change in the near future. ​​

​6. Fabric – 89% Amni Nylon, 11% Spandex. I like how the fabric is soft with right amount of compression. It is sweat wicking and fast dry, which can rapidly transfer heat and moisture away from the skin. It also enhances my body curvatures well.

​Amni is a leading brand of Solvay polyamide 6.6 textile yarns. It is soft, and it provides UV and bacteriostatic protection. Liquido also use Amni for some of its clothing. 

7. Design for – I’ve worn it to yoga as well as to tabata. I like wearing Vimmia’s leggings to high impact workouts more than yoga because of the way it “hugs” my body. The medium to high compression fabric is perfect for such exercises, and the four-way stretch material offers incomparable freedom of movement needed for yoga.

8. Cost – Retail price is $124. I bought it on sale at Sculptique for $50.58 + tax. It’s still on sale at Sculptique for $59.5. If you are a new customer, you can ask for the 15% off coupon code.

9. Stitch Seam – Comfortable flat locking seams.

​10. Crotch Seam​ – Diamond shaped gusset.

There is a hidden pocket on the waistband to hold small items like the key and gym/studio membership card. ​

​If you are looking for a versatile and high performance workout pant, you don’t want to miss Vimmia Reversible Spellbound legging. It covers all the needs for most actives including yoga, HIIT, tabata, spinning and more. The fabric is four-way stretch, moisture wicking and fast dry. The medium to high compression fabric helps to improve muscles circulation, which is great for high impact workouts. If gym exercises aren't your thing, the four way stretch fabric provides incredible freedom of movement needed for yoga. Most importantly, it shapes and lifts the right place of the body. Although the standard rise / waist is not ideal for me, it does keep everything tucked in. The only downside is that It costs more than other similar leggings, ~30% more than Lululemon WU Pant,. That said, you should be able to find it on sale online to make the legging much more affordable.
